SINOPSE

O Centro de Pesquisa para Inovação em Gás Natural (“Research Centre for Gas Innovation”, RCGI) da Universidade de São Paulo, realiza pesquisa em modelagem e simulação de cenários de longo prazo de emissões de gases de efeito estufa no setor de energia no Brasil, além das possíveis contribuições do gás natural para a implementação da Contribuição Nacionalmente Determinada (“Nationally Determined Contribution”, NDC) do Brasil, ao Acordo de Paris no âmbito da Convenção Quadro das Nações Unidas sobre a Mudança do Clima (“United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change”, UNFCCC).

No setor de energia o a governo federal determinou em legislação (Decreto 7390, 2010) que os Planos Decenais de Expansão de Energia, produzidos pela empresa de Pesquisa Energética do Ministério das Minas e Energia, são considerados para efeito de regulamentação como o plano setorial de mitigação no setor de energia. De acordo com estes planos e com a NDC brasileira a participação do setor de energia nas emissões de gases de efeito estufa do Brasil passarão de 9,1% em 2005 para 42,5% em 2030, deixando de ser marginal para ser a principal contribuição setorial no país. Nesse sentido é imperioso que a academia disponibilize alternativas de cenários de evolução dos sistemas de energia (matriz energética nacional) que permitam ao país a busca do crescimento econômico de maneira socialmente e ambientalmente sustentáveis. Para tanto é necessário o aumento da capacidade de modelagem dos possíveis alternativas de evolução dos sistemas de energia a serem apresentados aos formuladores de políticas e, em última análise, à sociedade brasileira, para uma tomada de decisão embasada nas melhores informações disponíveis.

Nesse sentido, o RCGI-IEE-USP e a Universidade Técnica de Dinamarca (DTU) oferecerão um curso rápido (3 dias) e prático (exercícios aplicados à realidade do setor de energia no Estado de São Paulo) de introdução à modelagem de sistemas de energia de 19 a 21 de junho de 2017.

Amalia Rosa Pizarro Alonso (DTU)
I am an Associate Researcher at the Technical University of Denmark in the division of Energy Systems Analysis from 2014. My field of research is modelling of energy systems, using Balmorel, with a focus on modelling of network flows, for optimal integration of value chains; such as gas, biomass and waste; including resource transportation, distribution and storage, within the boundaries of scenarios with large shares of variable renewable energy.
I graduated from the Technical University of Denmark in Sustainable Energy in 2014 and in Chemical Engineering from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2011. After my first studies, I worked as a chemical engineer in the R&D centre of CEPSA (Spanish Oil Company).
Nowadays, I am participating in several projects involving energy systems. I have contributed to the development of a new optimization model, OptiFlow, which optimizes, with a multi-criteria approach, the integration of network flows (biomass, gas, hydropower) within the boundaries of the energy system. It can be used in a stand-alone mode, or linked to Balmorel or other energy models, such as TIMES.

Rasmus Bo Bramstoft Pedersen (DTU)
I am an Associate Researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in the division of System Analysis. My work structure is characterized by an analytical approach to problems with great attention to details while simultaneously keeping track of complex situations. It is important for me to deliver a product that is of a high quality, both with respect to the academic content and the visual layout. Additionally, I am a person with ambitions, which previously has been reflected in several years of handball at a professional level. Now, my academic career is in focus, where I also want to meet my high ambitions.
