Welson Bassi

Pesquisador em Engenharia Elétrica, Alta Tensão, Sistemas de Potência e Energia, Eficiência Energética e Ciência de Materiais. Em Engenharia Elétrica obteve Doutorado (2005) e Mestrado (1999) pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e Bacharelado (1993) pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Professor colaborador credenciado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica (PPGEE) da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA). Ingressou no Instituto de Energia e Ambiente (IEE) da USP em 1994. Suas linhas de pesquisa abrangem altas tensões, simulação de transitórios eletromagnéticos e de fluxos de potência, sistemas de energia, diagnóstico de equipamentos elétricos, materiais isolantes e caracterização dielétrica, descargas parciais, medição e calibração em alta tensão, proteção contra descargas atmosféricas, novos materiais, eficiência energética e a integração de geração distribuída à rede. Pesquisador junto ao Centro de Análise, Planejamento e Desenvolvimento de Recursos Energéticos (CPLEN-USP), ao Laboratório de Sistemas de Potência e Técnicas Inteligentes (LSISPOTI–UNESP/FE-Bauru) e membro do comitê gestor do Centro Nacional Multiusuário (CNM – FINEP – IEE-USP). É Editor Associado do IEEE Open Journal of Industry Applications e Conselheiro da Fundação Energia e Saneamento, São Paulo.

Researcher in Electrical Engineering, High Voltage, Energy and Power Systems, Energy Efficiency, and Materials Science. He holds a Ph.D. (2005) and an M.Sc. (1999) in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a B.Sc. (1993) from São Paulo State University (UNESP). Colaborating Professor in the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering (PPGEE) at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA).  He has been with the Institute of Energy and Environment at USP (IEE-USP) since 1994. His research interests include high-voltage engineering, simulation of electromagnetic transients and power flow, power systems, diagnostics of electrical equipment, insulating materials and dielectric characterization, partial discharges, high-voltage measurement and calibration, lightning protection, advanced materials, energy efficiency, and the integration of distributed generation into the grid. He is affiliated with the Center for Analysis, Planning and Development of Energy Resources (CPLEN–USP), the Laboratory of Power Systems and Intelligent Techniques (LSISPOTI–UNESP/FE-Bauru), and is a member of the management committee of the National Multi-User Center (CNM – FINEP – IEE-USP). He also serves as an Associated Editor of the IEEE Open Journal of Industry Applications and as a Board Member of the Fundação Energia e Saneamento, São Paulo.
