Energy and the Environment: studies the organization process of the energy industry and the role and actions of the actors involved in institutional structuring, management, concession, regulation, integration and inspection. This line analyzes use and energy production projects.

  • Evaluation of the Sustainability of Energy Policies and their relationships to other Public Policies
  • Development of Methodologies for Environmental Diagnosis and Licensing in Energy Facilities and Companies

 

Energy and Society: analyzes the organization of energy production and appropriation in society within the framework of economic and social systems, historically formed, for the production of material needs.

  • Regional and Global Energy Integration: Political and Socio-Economic Aspects and the Role of the States and other Agents
  • Investigation of the Potential and Impacts of the Penetration of Combustible Gases in the Energy Matrix in Countries with non-consolidated Gas Markets
  • Organization of the Production and Appropriation of Energy in Society

 

Renewable Energy Sources: analyzes the incorporation and implantation of renewable sources in the energy matrix, in integrated, isolated and community systems. This line studies environmental impacts throughout the energy chain from primary to end-use.

  • Analysis and Survey Methodologies of Technical and Economic Opportunities in Biofuels and Other Renewable Energy Sources

 

Integrated Resource Planning: Energy Supply, Demand and Quality: alternative analyses for meeting energy needs, considering options for increasing supply, rationalizing use, managing demand and improving quality, aiming at reducing costs and taking into account environmental impacts and Social rights.
