About the course:

This seminar is a comprehensive course designed for those seeking business competencies in the energy sector. It covers the Technical, Economic and Managerial aspects of the Electricity Industry. It’s aimed at both technical and non-technical people who wish to gain a complete understanding of the dynamics of the industry and who work or want to do their career as government representatives, analysts, professional consultants, investors, suppliers and applied researchers.

Objectives
During this seminar the participants will:

* Achieve a comprehensive overview of the Power Generation Industry
* Confidently master technical terms to boost their credibility with colleagues & clients
* Understand the electricity production, demand’s structure and electricity consumption forecast
* Review and discuss the fundamentals of electricity price formation
* Study latest issues in production, transmission, distribution, trading and marketing of electricity
* Evaluate the major costs, risks and uncertainties in power markets and projects

About the lecturer:

Arash Farnoosh holds a Terminal Graduate Engineer's Degree from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse (French Grande Ecole). He also holds a specialized MSc in petroleum economics and management from IFP School in Paris and another Research MSc in Energy and Transfer Engineering from the University of Toulouse. He did his Doctorate studies at the University of Montpellier in Energy Economics. He teaches courses on power generation management, electricity economics, energy economics and renewable energies at IFP School and supervises a Master’s program in Petroleum Economics. Prior to become a faculty member and economist at the IFP School he has worked in many companies such as Airbus France, Total E&P and BNP Paribas Investment Banking Group as a techno-economic engineer and analyst.
